321ACTION: Keep up the fight for abortion rights!

Your civic action to-do list for December 6, 2021

16 Days of Activism, Abortion Rights, Ending Workplace Violence

Register early for the Women to Watch Leadership Weekend happening March 20 & 21, 2022. See below and follow us on social media for more details.

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence ends this Friday, December 10th - but there are still plenty of ways to get engaged:

  • Join Moment magazine and JWI Collaborative member Dr. Shoshannah Frydman tomorrow - December 7th - at 4:30 p.m. ET for “She’s Gone: Shedding Light on Domestic Violence,” a conversation about how the Jewish community is helping to combat and prevent domestic violence.

  • Attend the World Bank’s “Intimate Partner Violence and Forced Displacement” webinar on December 8th at 10:00 a.m. ET.

  • Email JWI Fellow Rachel Apfelbaum at rapfelbaum@jwi.org to receive a copy of the White House Gender Policy Council’s National Action Plan to End Gender-Based Violence, which will be released in early 2022.

The oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Health Organization on December 1st were discouraging, but the Supreme Court has not yet made a ruling. The fight for Roe v. Wade is not over!

  • Visit the United State of Women’s (USOW) Reproductive Justice Hub to sign important petitions, learn about current events, and find lists of abortion funds that need help.

  • Stay informed on major developments in sexual & reproductive health policy in your state.

  • Write your senator to encourage them to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA), which will protect people’s right to obtain abortions and providers’ right to perform them.

All people deserve a workplace environment free of discrimination, harassment, and violence. The Bringing an End to Harassment by Enhancing Accountability and Rejecting Discrimination (BE HEARD) in the Workplace Act includes groundbreaking legislative reforms that will advance the equality and safety of all workers, protecting them from discrimination and harassment.

Email your members of Congress and tell them to pass the BE HEARD Act.
