321ACTION: May 6, 2024

May is Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM)! The official JAHM toolkit is available here. Read the President’s JAHM proclamation here.

Ready to make a difference?

Here are three ways to get started:

1. Receive daily updates from I Believe Israeli Women on the ground in Israel!

JWI’s I Believe Israeli Women initiative will be on the ground in Israel from May 18th to the 23rd! Sign up to receive daily updates from the mission co-led by the Seed the Dream Foundation, featuring American women lawyers, medical experts, and executives who will be in Israel to bear witness to Hamas’s sexual violence and to learn about the ongoing needs of victims and survivors, families, and communities.

2. Urge your Representative to sign the Affordable Connectivity Program discharge petition!

In 2024, the internet is a necessity, not a luxury. Children need internet access to do their homework, adults need internet access for work, and communication with doctors, teachers, government services, and other essential communication is now almost exclusively online.  One in six households relies on the Affordable Connectivity Program to defray the costs of broadband, but this program will run out of funding soon. Click here to contact your House member and urge them to sign the discharge petition to bring the Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act to the House Floor vote a vote.

3. Tell your Representative to reject proposals to weaken SNAP!

Congress is considering competing proposals in the House and Senate to reauthorize the farm bill, which includes the Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, also known as food stamps). The House bill would prevent SNAP from keeping pace with the needs of families over time. Click here to email your House member and urge them to reject proposals that would weaken SNAP.
