DESCRIPTION
Jewish Women International (JWI) is at a pivotal moment in its mission to build a world in which all women thrive. JWI is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and strategic fundraising executive to serve as its new Chief Development Officer (CDO). The CDO will create a comprehensive fundraising strategy and drive transformational growth to secure the resources needed to deepen the impact of our work advancing women’s leadership, building access to economic security, and addressing gender-based violence globally.
Building upon a recent assessment for a comprehensive fundraising plan, the CDO will lead efforts to cultivate relationships with current and new donors, and secure five-to seven-figure gifts. The CDO will create a multi-year development plan, maintaining and leveraging longstanding relationships, while forging varied and strategic new partnerships that elevate JWI’s visibility and impact across the Jewish philanthropic arena.
JWI is seeking a strategic thinker and bold go-getter with a passion for fundraising and the ability to inspire high-level support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Development Strategy & Leadership
Collaborate with JWI leadership to implement and execute a comprehensive development strategy that aligns with and advances key organizational priorities
Engage lay leadership in major donor prospecting, cultivation, and solicitation
Build and manage JWI’s Pearl Society and Networks of local donor groups across the country
Major Gifts Fundraising & Donor Engagement
Work with CEO and Board Chair to increase existing major donor contributions as well as secure new donors with emphasis on major, multi-year gifts
Lead donor stewardship efforts, crafting compelling donor programs and campaigns that engage current funders and inspire a new generation of supporters and champions for JWI’s mission
Development Operations & Communications
Create and maintain rigorous reporting mechanisms with regular reporting on fundraising progress to JWI leadership and Board with clearly defined metrics for success
Work with communications team to partner on fundraising assets and campaigns
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years of experience leading innovative, high-impact fundraising programs, with a track record of securing major gifts
7+ years of experience building and cultivating relationships with high-net-worth donors and Board members that lead to transformative gifts
7+ years of experience developing and presenting comprehensive fundraising metrics to leadership, board members and prospective donors
Entrepreneurial mindset and approach
Strong connection to JWI’s mission with knowledge of the Jewish and pro-Israel philanthropic landscape
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in a non-profit environment
Excellent judgment and effective communication – written, verbal and listening
Commitment to continuous process improvement in fundraising strategies and initiatives
Ability to work independently as well as part of a business leadership team
COMPENSATION RANGE
$160,000 – $180,000, commensurate with experience
