Jewish Child & Family Services (JCFS) is pleased to announce Rabbi David Rosenberg, JCFS’s Coordinator of Jewish Education, as the new co-chair of Jewish Women International’s (JWI) Clergy Task Force to End Domestic Abuse in the Jewish Community.
The Task Force speaks publicly, develops and disseminates resources and training, and provides guidance to clergy working with families experiencing abuse. This group has members from countries around the world, including the United States, Israel, Canada and Australia, and is comprised of clergy from every Jewish denomination, some of whom are survivors of domestic abuse.
“Rabbi David has been a valued member of the Task Force for seven years. This new role recognizes David’s expertise and leadership as a spiritual leader and educator, as well as the strength and breadth of all the abuse prevention efforts JCFS provides to our Chicago Jewish community,” says Amy Rubin, Senior Director, JCFS Community Services.
JCFS provides education and resources to increase awareness, expand understanding and ensure a culturally sensitive, coordinated response to abuse in Jewish homes and families. Through Safer Communities, we support schools, synagogues, camps and other institutions with discussion about the impact of abuse, improving access to support for those experiencing abusive situations, and coordinated community strategies that perpetuate healthy, peaceful homes, families and relationships.
JCFS strives to enhance the social and emotional well-being of individuals and families with complex needs or barriers to service, while maximizing potential for people with disabilities in the Jewish community and beyond. We provide therapeutic and supportive services for children, adults and families of all backgrounds who face challenges with life transitions.
Jewish Child & Family Services is a partner with Jewish United Fund in serving our community. We embrace diversity. Our commitment to inclusivity is woven throughout our services, programs and welcoming workplace. For more information visit JCFS.org
